Retouching can include the removing of blemishes, pimples and small objects from photos, or to enhance color, skin tones and consistency, to changing color within an image.
Restoration can cover a wide selection of items such as removal of backgrounds and people, to opening eyes, and filling in hair on a balding head. Some images may need repair due to sun damage, and discoloration, to bends or tears in a photograph. The changes are almost limitless, though can not always be performed on every image to perfection.
Some images are considered non repairable due to excessive damage. If a face is obliterated on a photo the only way to repair it is to use another photograph to "lend" a face so to speak. All images need to be seen to give an accurate quote of the potential work involved in photo restoration and retouching.
